One of the finest lines in literature. 'I cannot live without my life' As a young lad who had his heartbroken, I saw this movie by chance one night and became obssessed with it. The book is a complete materpiece and there hasn't really been a true adaption on film or TV. The book is quite amusing as well as dark. The films tend to focus just on Heathcliffe and Cathy but there is so much more to the story.

As brief as it is, this may be my favorite Dustin Hoffman performance of all of his. This is absolutely flawless.

The end of the scene is the most terrifying thing. Joan realizing ".. I'm now going to die for.. What? What the fuck am I gonna die for now??" We can only hope, for her sake, real life Joan wasn't visited by Dustin Hoffman.

Fucking gut wrenching scene. And its made even more gut wrenching by the amount of people in the comments hailing Johnny as some kind of intellectual. A man trying to find meaning in his existence and wanting to share that existence and meaning with someone else, spat on by an insect who's only ability in life is to eat and regurgitate himself. Therefore he must cause as much despair to anyone within a 10 ft radius who will allow it. Johnny is not a genius nor an antihero. He is simply a pathetic man, falling, and trying to take everyone with him.

Incredible love story. Pocahontas is such an assertive female character, and John Rolfe is everything a real man should be. She thought John Smith was dead when he opted to take off for the Indies, only to find out he was still alive, living in England, with no plans to ever return, and had essentially abandoned her to slate his ambition. She told her husband she made a mistake marrying him and needed to see John Smith because he is her true husband, and being such a good man John Rolfe took her to England so she could see Smith again agreeing to wait for her and see how it goes as she decides which one of them she wants to be with... Smith the man who abandoned her never planning to return or Rolfe the stable man who practically worships her. So beautiful. So poetic
